Baltic Sea Circle 2012
You’ve been up all day, 14 days in a row. You’re driving a car your dad could only dream of, taking in the stunning nature all around you.
Explore the Baltic States and Scandinavia in your own special way.
7,500 km of white sand coastline, lonely archipelago, rugged cliffs and deep fjords, the North Cape (the northernmost point in Europe) in midsummer, and insane parties in St. Petersburg and Tallinn during the famous White Nights. The Baltic Sea is exploding with action this time of year and you’re sure to get your taste of it.
Imagine yourself in a 25-year-old BMW driving by the light of the midnight sun, just a couple miles from the North Cape. Drink a homebrewed with the sons of the Vikings. Dance 24 hours around the midsummer trees in Latvia. Have the most action-packed 14-day adventure of your life.
This is the Baltic Sea Circle, the northernmost adventure rally in the whole wide world.
Mongol Rally 2010
The Mongol Rally is an annual event in which participants drive over 10,000 miles from London, England to Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia to raise money for charities benefiting children in Mongolia. The route is not set. The teams are on their own. The cars are small! The Mongol Rally is a great adventure for a great cause. Each team raises at least $2000 directly for the charities and also donates their vehicle for auction when they arrive. The primary charity supported by the Mongol Rally is Mercy Corps which funds wide ranging projects. With the hundreds of thousands of dollars raised each year, they set up schools, build children’s playgrounds, establish youth centers and help women find employment opportunities.
The RoamGreen team, Baatar Hero, undertook this journey in two small, fuel efficient vehicles to promote sustainable travel. In addition to donating the vehicles, all our camping gear and equipment acquired for the trip were donated to Mercy Corps in Mongolia. With the help of our sponsors we raised over $15,000 for Mercy Corps, more than 3 times our original goal!
